Welcome to Trenary Toast Cafe, a vibrant haven nestled in the heart of Marquette, Michigan. Located at 153 W Washington St Suite C, this cafe stands out for its unique offerings and inviting atmosphere. As a food reviewer from Grubbio, I’m excited to delve into what makes Trenary Toast Cafe a delightful destination for both locals and visitors.
This eclectic cafe embraces its roots, hinting at a strong Finnish influence with its specialty breads and unique menu items. During my visit, the warm ambiance instantly set the tone. The decor, while diverse, contributes to the café’s charm, creating a lively space where you can unwind over a cup of coffee.
One of the stars of the menu is undoubtedly their French toast, a dish that has garnered mixed reviews but remains an intriguing choice. One enthusiastic customer, John Magilke, raved about the unparalleled flavor, declaring, "If you like French toast, you'll never get French toast like this again." With a price of just $14 for a plate that includes crispy bacon and a brew of fragrant coffee, many believe it’s worth every penny. However, it’s worth noting that some patrons, like Keone “Koa” Beaulieu-Kalilikane, felt the portion size didn’t quite match the price tag, which invites a deeper discussion about value versus experience.
What truly makes Trenary Toast Cafe stand out is its commitment to cater to a diverse clientele. With options for both meat-eaters and vegetarians, diners like Ali Sabouki have found something for everyone in the bustling atmosphere filled with friendly faces. The cafe’s focus on quality ingredients, like the delightful cloudberry jam, adds an artisanal touch that elevates standard fare.
However, not every dish has won the hearts of visitors. Some guests have expressed disappointment with certain offerings, such as the squeaky cheese plate. Rasikanand Harvind pointed out that the heating process affected the cheese's unique texture, underscoring that expectations can vary greatly among patrons based on personal taste.
Each visit presents an opportunity to discover something new—from a warm cinnamon roll that is best enjoyed fresh, to a hot chai latte that promises to invigorate your senses. The staff’s friendliness enhances the experience, making it a place where you can feel at home while indulging in delightful flavors.
In conclusion, Trenary Toast Cafe is more than just a café; it’s a community space where culinary creativity meets a warm atmosphere. Whether you are allured by their iconic French toast or eager to explore their other offerings, it’s clear that this cafe deserves a spot on your list of must-visit eateries in Marquette.

If you like french toast you'll never get french toast like this again. I had. French toast, bacon & coffee. $14! This is an unconventional cafe/bakery & I didn't talk to anyone so I'm kinda winging it here; but I think this is a Finnish type bread bakery. Good help, very bright atmosphere. Excellent french toast & coffee

It’s a very busy place with unique food choices for both meat eaters and vegetarians. We enjoyed the food and the atmosphere and the people that work there were nice.

First time coming to this place. Food was good, but prices seem incredibly high. Fourteen bucks for two tiny pieces of "French toast" and a couple slices of bacon? For that price, I'd expect four slices of toast or at least two very large slices. The decor is a bit all over the place, and I wouldn't even call it eclectic. The restaurant was clean and bright and smelled very good. The hot chai latte was excellent. The staff was very friendly, and service was fairly quick.

Its alright. Fantastic location. Good ambiance. Food was just average. It was something I could've made myself at home. The biggest letdown was the squeeky cheese plate. They heat and partially melt the cheese which no longer makes it squeeky. They squandered the one unique thing they had on the menu. Everything else was just some toast with jam or chopped up ingredients. The cloudberry jam was pretty good. They can do better.

I recently visited the Treasury Toast Cafe at 153 W Washington St Suite C, in Marquette, MI. It's a very clean and welcoming atmosphere. I ordered a cinnamon roll and was asked if I wanted it heated, a nice touch. The people working there were real friendly and helpful with good personalities. It's a real nice place to enjoy your coffee and enjoy starting your morning.

Staff are incredibly nice and the food is even better. The cinnamon roll breakfast sandwich is mouth-watering. The lox is loaded with salmon and well worth your money and time.

I'm from lansing so when i go unto a town I like finding places that are unique and this is one of them. Food was fast and the quality was there. The flavors hit all the good spots. The Chipotle has a kick and is totally worth it. Will definitely be back over the weekend to try more !
